Martha & Maria

Last Friday, I went out to take some christmas portraits of the sisters, Martha and Maria. I had a nice assistant, Philip Overbuary, who's been helping me a lot of times before. This is what came out of it.

FINALLY! After many late nights and frustrating moments, I'm finally done with the complete redesign of my website, http://hetoft.com/.

 The normal galleries use Flash, but if you view the website from a device that doesn't support Flash, it simply shows an HTML5 gallery. Neat, huh? ;)

Kadour Ziani @ StreetMekka

So, arguably one of the most athletic people and greatest dunkers in the world, Kadour Ziani, came to Denmark once again, and after some talks, we established a small photo session... which evolved to becoming him dunking in a suit and bare feet (!) a couple of days after. That was, hands down, one of the most amazing things I've ever seen a human being do.

This is a selection of the photos. They were all shot at StreetMekka (which, if you're into street culture, you have to visit!). Oh, and if you don't know who Kadour Ziani is, well... I'm sure the pictures speak for themselves. If not, check out the YouTube video at the bottom.

In the Studio with Philip

My good friend and flatmate Philip Overbuary, also a photographer, and myself went to the studio to do some portraits of each other and just play around there, experimenting with wide open apertures to get a very shallow depth of field...

 All these photos were edited by me, trying out some different techniques, but the shots of me were of course taken by Philip. Check out his blog at http://overbuary.wordpress.com/.

My girlfriend and I made sushi (yes, MADE) a short while ago and I simply had to get a photo before we started eating. Bon appetite!

Riddim*Night "Ladies in Charge" (11/12)

Some time ago, I was contacted by a guy named King, who I found out was the manager and the one responsible for the Riddim*Night events; biannual dancehall parties in Copenhagen. Soon hereafter, I was hired to shoot the next one...

Not really sure what to expect, it was a craaaaazy night with lots of nice people, dancing and bootyshaking. I'll probably also be the photographer for the next event of its kind. If you think this looks like fun, you should definitely go the next time. Hope to see you there!

DeFaktor @ MellemRummet (04/11)

My old friend Emil of the Danish hip-hop group DeFaktor recently did their first gig in Copenhagen, at a nice place called MellemRummet in Nørrebro.

I was there and although it was PACKED and there wasn't much space (nor light!), I managed to get a couple of snaps... This is it! The guys did a good show, you should check 'em out!

We Remember Natasja @ Pumpehuset (10-29 2011)

I was asked to photograph We Remember Natasja, a memorial for the late Natasja, at Pumpehuset this past Saturday. I was the official photographer of the event, for SkyJuice Reggae Promotions, the hosts of the night.

A lot of different artists performed and it was truely a great, joyous night. R.I.P. Natasja.

Late Night Sydhavn

The past couple of days I've walked past this beautiful VW Beetle and I was fast determined to photograph it. I had already thought about the composition, so all there was left for me to do was to grab my camera and go shoot.

That's what I did last night. Since I was out there in the first place, I looked around for different scenes... I ended up with these 4 photos in total.

The Neighborhood Cat

When we came home one late night, a cute little cat wandered around. As soon as we opened the door, it followed us inside. We really liked the idea of having a cat around, so we gave it some water and some ham... We're right now considering whether or not to get our own little pussy cat. It stayed long enough for me to take a couple pictures, which can be seen below.

Jobcenter Portraits

I'm doing a course at the Jobcenter at the moment, writing applications and my resumé. And by the way, I'm still searching for an internship (praktikplads), a photographer to take me under his/her wings... We are about 10 people on this course, all in need of an internship (but I'm the only photographer).

Some of the people needed a new photo for their application/resumé, so I brought my camera today to help them out. Just classic, clean portraits, not much to it. :) I'll probably do the same thing tomorrow, so maybe these won't be the last of 'em.

Katja's 18th Birthday - The Party

I continued to photograph her birthday party till the early morning hours... These are 5 of the best photos from the party itself, where all her friends were invited. I decided to try some light painting (using slow synch flash) - my first real attempt with that. It was a bit difficult to manage, but I think I did okay (although I got a bit too drunk at the end). ;)

My cousin's daughter Katja turned 18 last week, and she and her family hosted a big party this past Saturday.
